Default poo paradox

Is the word "poo" a singular word or plural word?

If "poo" is singular then we'd be calling a bunch of them "poos." But we don't.
If "poo" is plural then we'd call one of them "a poo." But we don't.

Does the language collapse when we encounter "poo"? ... a puzzlement.

Poo is omnipresent. It exists as one and many at the same time. It's all-knowing, all-seeing, and all-powerful

well, it's one of those interesting words that don't seem to make sense.

take the f-bomb for example. it's the only (i think) word in the English language that can be used as ANY part of speech.

so poo is like the force ... it is one ... and many

perhaps the singular is "poo"
and the plural is "poo poo"
... thoughts?

ah, the can. where 90% of all of the world's greatest innovations were thought of.

seriously, i used to sit on the toilet when i needed an idea for a project. it always helped....

or maybe it's because i THINK that i can think better on the can, so as a result i think more clearly and creatively.

talk about placebo effect.

My theory about ideas and the can ...

perhaps the straining increases the blood supply to the brain - that's why we see people depicted in deep thought with their faces contorted as if they were pinching a loaf. (e.g. Rodin's Thinker)

"Poo" is plural and singular. It can refer to one poo or a pile of poo.

Generally when someone speaks of "poo" they refer to a pile of poo. Duh.

It's just one of those strange things I guess. Kinda like chicken noodle soup...why noodle and not noodles?..Is there only one noodle in it? Why then do we call it noodles and sauce? Maybe because chicken noodles soup sounds waunky and incorrect. Mind you..in the dictionary I have..the word "poo" isn't even in there...So maybe because it's a type of "slang" word there are different rules that apply to it?...I dunno..the English language is a strange on indeed!
On a side note..a lot of people don't even know why many other people refer to the act of using the toilet for the sake of pooping ...as "taking a crap"
That would be because the poor guy that invented it had the name J.J Crapper. So it became taking crap. That has to suck...create a wonderful thing like the toilet and forever has your surname used to imply..."I'm pooping"

Long live the poo, I say!

The word "sheep" is the closest thing to "poo" I can think of in the English language.

"Sheep" can be singular or plural ....

Then again .... a single sheep is "a sheep." You still don't say "a poo." Hmmm.

Actually, I don't say "poo" at all. However, having kids, "poop" is often used.

Why is it called taking a poop when you actually leave one behind?

Actually, you leave one behind when one leaves your behind as well...

Talk about a paradox.
